Haven’t drawn in ages, felt weirdly compelled to sketch that page from Dark Knight Returns where Batman breaks the gun. So I did that kinda, with POSCA and some colored pens I borrowed

Been getting into some comics, really enjoying it. I have some knowledge and an idea of what I like, but never really got into buying single back issues before. Love the idea of buying for certain artists, haven’t found all the ones I want just yet but it’s a process!

I really like seeing the responses to this post, so I came up with a few myself! Alt text contains the actors, characters, and movie titles.

Listened to Spiderland again, I never really “got” the album, and I picked it up again yesterday. I’m finally in a place where it made sense to me, the lyrical style, the vocals and spoken word. The tension in the guitar playing. Yeah, it clicked and it’ll be on my mind for a while now. Whew.

Felt the urge to do a self portrait tonight, to replace the one I had as my avatar. Took a picture with my glasses on but left them off in the drawing. I darkened the lines after taking a picture of it, and I like it a lot better. Feels okay

I hesitate to share my art anymore but I was looking at these and I'm still really happy I made them. I've always loved the desert pastel piece but the other one I thought was just a throwaway, until I really looked at it one night under the lamp-light. Keep creating, even if you have to take breaks

Cherubs' Heroin Man is 30 years old. This album is an undeniable achievement in my eyes, an album that captures heart-beating raw emotion like no other, from sinister lows to really beautiful highs. I wouldn't be here without this one, it has changed me and will continue to.

Saw another post on here that GitS is 35 years old, sure enough yeah it was first published in May of '89. Crazy stuff. Here's one of my favorite panels cause I always loved the suitcase gun in the manga vs. any other depiction. I'm thankful for all that I've read from this book, I need to revisit.

Finally listened to all of Unwound's New Plastic Ideas after really digging the song Usual Dosage. Didn't really vibe with another album of theirs but this one was incredible, '94 was an amazing year for noise rock projects. It was strong all the way through, just finishing as I write this!

What Burns Never Returns is 25 years old as of a couple days ago. I still go back to this one often to try and grasp the tracks that don't make sense to me, cause the ones that I do like are just...twisting and bouncing and distortion heavy, like math rock was. Also one of my fav album art, amazing
