I hope this can be the small something that our community chooses to make Chicago a place we can live with pride.

Thank you for indulging me. If you have any questions or follow up please don't hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,
Bobby

This project will not house every vulnerable potential citizen, but it may house a few, and the rest of the units will make other housing more affordable elsewhere. No community must do everything, every community must do something.

Our neighborhood and Chicago at large will continue to change. I fear 20 or 30 years from now our arrogance will make a city where the vulnerable are left exposed and unhoused. While most of us do not have to worry about this, we will be constantly reminded of it.

It did not have to be this way, but decades of decisions in the name of defending neighborhood character made this change inevitable.

Before living here my family and I spent 3 years in Los Angeles. The city, as most of you know from the news is in a state of crisis because of the lack of housing available. The least fortunate citizens now live on the streets and in their cars.

The fortunate part for us, as residents of this community, is that we have some say in how it will change.

All cities and all neighborhoods change. The change is the inevitable part, there is no amount of regulation or disension that can stop it. I have talked to several neighbors who have described a time not long ago where these few blocks were not the family friendly pocket they are today.

Hi neighbors,

Unfortunately I haven't had the time to attend either the community meeting or the gathering last night, but I did want to take a minute to share my thoughts on the building with you.
