I'm a United States citizen who came here on a visa. Worse, actually--my parents had the visa, and I freeloaded as their young child.

I got carried away, lol. Basically: One big appeal of humans remaining in charge is our capacity for emotional intelligence as social animals. AI does not have emotions or experiences like ours, so it cannot genuinely connect in a situation where real empathy and compassion is required.

Can it call its patients well read and excitedly solicit book recommendations in the pre-anesthesia room? Can it banter with a patient going under anesthesia to ensure they wake up relaxed? Can it crack jokes during self-injection training? Can it offer genuine concern and sympathy during hospital stays with ups and downs? Can it give nervous children a stuffed animal and aromatherapy pillow to calm them during a procedure? That's what the human doctors, nurses, techs, and pharmacists I've known can do. It's not just intelligence; it's empathy. AI can't have empathy, because it doesn't have human experiences and cannot relate to humans in complex emotional situations."
