Achingly raw story of found family, folk magic, ghosts, & revenge. I thoroughly enjoyed my first read of this incredible author @gabino.bsky.social, being immersed in part of my ancestors' culture, and shuddering about what travels in the hurricane 😳

My mom used to be annoyed that my dad opened the bottom end of the chip bag all the time. We've always teased that he's the quintessential 'absent-minded professor.' I just looked down at the Cheetos bag I opened while I was fuming about something else. OH NO

Just finished reading this weekend. Lush, seductive, and satisfying with beautifully rendered characters, queer & polyamorous love, and a familiar villain (esp. for survivors of abuse)

Current read. Well-researched scholarly work mapping the monsters & demons specific to the struggles of women across history, how men appropriated them & how women reclaim them. Dense but riveting. Definitely recommend.
