Yes, I know. Look at the credits :-)
In all seriousness, I think it's a great approach and I love how @krajzeg.bsky.social does it. I'm hoping to do something a bit like that for my next game (not Pico 8 though).

What? I never heard of it. I'm going to have to get one this summer! :-)

For me personally, the scripted battle is the least appealing approach, but maybe some people would like it better? I feel that it's too easy to click, click, click and not really understand what you did. A low-stakes battle (maybe even adjusting it so you CAN'T die) with some help would be great.

And actually, I suspect the only people that would work for would be hard-core board gamers.
January 2, 2025 at 7:44 PM
For some people, definitely. Others would be horrified by that :-) So choices are great.

That's definitely the way to go. In many years playing board/card games, I've seen how people learn in VERY different ways, so it's great that they can do it in any of those ways.

I guess by that I mean highest profit? You could have spent tons of money in marketing or content and grossing by way up but profit down.
January 1, 2025 at 7:16 PM
That's great! Does highest grossing also mean highest net revenue?

I love the 6128, but, if you want an alternative, you can get a DDI5 and you get both the extra RAM and the floppy drive emulator and controller.
But I do love loading from real disks :-)

Do you think it holds up today? I think I was missing something when I tried it recently, but I really wanted to like it.

And yes, I have Ranarama and HoH for the Amstrad. They're in those orange cases on the bottom shelf. I never played Ranarama back in the day and I tried recently but didn't get into it. I need to try again.

It was a rescue operation and I decided to go for broke with Blue. I'm actually really happy how it turned out (www.youtube.com/watch?v=dy2F...).

Yes, P2 is funnier for sure. But I put a lot of weight in minimal. I'm definitely in the Saint-Exupery camp: "Perfection is attained, not when no more can be added, but when no more can be removed."

Here's the whole wall for full effect.
I'm kind of proud that I managed to limit my PC game collection to that (and Ebay prices surely helped with that).

And I get it. If you're going to make a sequel to Portal, that's as good as it's going to get. I just don't understand how universally Portal 2 is considered better than Portal 1. It completely baffles me.

Yes, the voice acting is some of the best in any game ever, but for me, this is a perfect example of how making things larger and adding more things dilutes the game and makes it worse.

My daughter has been playing through them (with me watching and offering the occasional suggestion), so that made me look at both of them with a fresh pair of eyes.
December 30, 2024 at 2:50 PM
Well, I specifically built those shelves for that. So yeah :-)

You know, for some reason I was never an Ultima fan. I tried one of them but never got into it. Amazing I know. I do have some Underworld on the other side of the shelves though (very different, I know).

EOB1 was mind-blowing for me at the time. Legend of Grimrock was a fun modernization of the same idea.
