First try with these bird wings but they seem to work!
I can see some room for improvement to stabilize the lower arm joint. I’m thinking maybe a long hole that lets the joint slide like a rail. 🤔

Getting back into the swing of things now that the weather isn’t constantly trying to kill me.
Finally made a 3D prototype of an articulated bird wing. Next step is to print it out, insert pins, and see what needs to be fixed.

Finally sat down today to assemble the eye tracker kit for my headset.
Took a bit to figure out the correct orientation, but I think I got it. Lightly stuck the kit to the mount I printed— I’m gunna need a reprint. But the model is correct at least.
Next I need to add a camera.

Realized I fucked up somewhere bc the numbers were not adding up. Tried to undo it but cat hair was woven in, got caught, and the thread broke.

Finally got to print some parts for vr eye-tracking!
I’m not sure the eye sockets will work because there were some little pockets with supports that turned into a garbled mess instead of extracting properly.
But the other parts should be fine.

Got a video of two newts coming up for air in succession! There were at least half a dozen in this one spot by the pier.

Ok, I’ve studied, spent hours taking screenshots from video footage to get the best angles, and finally finished my first mockup.
Took about 3h since I did weeks of prep. Overall I think it looks good, but I’ll make a cleaner version with more exact measurements before testing.
