That's a good point, teams does encourage the user to set up a profile and the department should have realised it wouldn't be suitable for young children.
But my point remains it's a choice, but concede they are prompted.
I knew this was happening as Microsoft communicated it to customers ages ago.

It's worth having a read of how it's handled.
They create a pattern that is then used to match against the voice or face print. It's like the old phone banking verification by voice print.
People have a choice to opt in and delete it. Just like a google, siri or Alexa device commonplace these days.

Just to clarify, Microsoft hasn't enabled data collection by default.

They enabled people to "opt in" by default, i.e. to CHOOSE to set up a recognition profile.

A person needs to go out of their way to actually provide Microsoft the biometric data through a wizard, you can't accidentally do it.

The amended article is still wrong.

Microsoft hasn't enabled data collection by default.

They enabled people to "opt in" by default, i.e. to CHOOSE to setup a recognition profile.

If any parents are concerned they only need to ask their child if they chose to setup a voice or face recognition.

This article is wrong! You haven't done your due diligence to actually understand what you've written about.
Recognition features were enabled for people to "opt in", so a student would have to choose to set up.
Teams didn't automatically start collecting biometric data.

It's populist bullshit with no substance full of hypocrisy.

There is some dodgy corruption going on in America and Russia has links somehow, it will come out one day I'm sure.
