This is the core of how we proceed in our society of increasing brutality. It's the only real way forward.
Blame and condemnation are the roots of regression.

(1) Simple reboot: sit. take a deep breath filling the lungs from the belly up. Hold a moment. Release/exhale/relax from shoulders down to feet. Repeat five times. You are grounded in a present space where you don't have to carry out an emotional reaction.

We are dismayed now that brutality has nearly become the national norm. But before we leap into brutal reaction, we should sit ourselves down and relax our rage so that when we rise our impact will be justice and grace.

This bronze Reclining Buddha is at the Nanzoin Temple in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.
It signifies "Anshin," a heart at ease accepting change and free of anxiety over what may come.
In Classic Stoicism this is called "Apathia."

It's meaning is significant.
However, there is an unfortunate usage in Japanese slapstick comedy culture I'll not illustrate.

"Nodobotoke" is Japanese for the hyoid bone which sort of resembles a seated Buddha. It literally means "throat buddha."
