I had a professor in grad school point out the word revision literally means "to see again". It's your time to look back at your writing to discover what all lies beneath. To try and say that step "doesn't count" is full on blasphemy. 🙄

I had a "good" writer friend who staunchly stood by the claim that revision was not writing. Which is bonkers because revision, for many of us, is when all the craft happens. 🤦
