when I was in Japan, I went to Fukuoka. There was a taiko group playing on the grounds of Fukuokajo (Fukuoka Castle). One of them saw how into it I was and held out their sticks to me, inviting me to try it. It was a lot of fun, but it takes a lot of endurance, too.
