Somehow FWS means you must now say ‘a biological x who thinks they’re a y’ when mentioning any trans person in the media for any reason. Trans people are thus presented as fantasists or liars, and any push back against this is met with claims of capture and bias. It’s really messed up.

Why was it okay for him, aged 18, to move 100s of miles from his ‘inter generational bonds’ to go to Cambridge (and then York and then Florence) but a mistake for others? Why doesn’t he just write ‘it’s not for the likes of you, pleb’ and be done with it?

Thank you for writing this. As a trans person who does not have much family support, it greatly moves me to see you stick up for your children and challenge these inaccurate narratives.

NRPF also applies to the British citizen spouse if sponsoring a visa that way. So it’s already even stricter than what it sounds.

Exactly. We’re not allowed to know any details of how they plan to oppress us (further), yet it’s fine for Times journalists to be sent copies so they can write puff pieces summarising the juicy bits.

Exactly. A ridiculous and harmful ‘solution’ to a complete non-problem. I feel crazy seeing how many journalists and politicians have bought into trying to ‘solve it’.

Same, by a guy at least 30 years older than me in a position of power to block access to care if I gave the ‘wrong’ answer or refused his questions. When I think about him even now, it makes me angry. That this is still done, and with children no less, makes my blood boil.

So it’s all based on what sex you are perceived to be, which may have nothing to do with your sex at birth, your sex now, the sex on documents etc etc. So after all this, sex doesn’t actually matter, a random person’s hasty opinion is what matters. Fuck’s sake this gets stupider by the day.
