I still believe the main idea in this post, but after grading this semester: It's clear that some students are paying Way More for access to better models, a situation exacerbated by the fact that some students have vpns & some don't.
IMO one of the worst things about AI discourse are the many charlatans saying that elite institutions will do "AI transitions" first, there will be an "AI access gap." No. What are you fucking talking about. This is going to be used to defund teaching in low-tier institutions from K-12 to college.

One thing that's true is that there's a special place in hell for US regime media (not sure if there's another word for it at this point) that talks about deportation (and "self-deportation" etc etc etc) as sterile, easy, unproblematic.

I haven't been posting much about politics I guess, partly because I'm physically far from the US but also because I feel like everything I want to say about current administration plans is either repetitive and cliche or so violent it would be a bad idea to actually put online
