Unfortunately no - nobody wants an on-again, off-again partner. Countries will trade with the US while frantically looking for other, more stable markets. Once they have them, the US will be a second choice at best..

My wife has already skipped 2 pharmaceutical conferences in the US. It's unlikely she or anyone in her office will be back down barring exceptional circumstances.

Thank you for not supporting Twitter, Mr. Prime Minister. I'm hoping to see more MPs on this platform, so they can be heard by the people they want to reach.

They care when their jobs are threatened usually.. That's what a large enough local protest does. Also - call them and let them know that it's unacceptable. That can help. You can only try, but consider the alternatives to this level of protest. It's worth the effort

Unfortunately, I agree. Very shortly the choices are going to be mass strikes/work stoppages or violence. I'm hoping it's resolved by massive public pressure, but the people in charge are anticipating this. You guys don't demonstrate in numbers like the Europeans.

'Good Germans' in WW2, Russians under Putin, Americans under Trump. You guys are in a lot of trouble. You have to decide what you'll accept before you really act, if it's not too late. The rest of the western world is watching with trepidation.

There is a tariff on some Amerian dairy, but it only comes into effect after a massive amount of cheese crosses the border. The amount of cheese is so high, it's never come close to being implemented. Otherwise it's free trade cheese, from Trumps own free trade agreement. This is complete crap

Delegation from Halifax ready to come re-visit the White House... Do you guys understand you're using Russian rhetoric prior to the invasion of Ukraine? It's not taken lightly by any Canadians, or Europeans for that matter.

There is no enemy like a friend betrayed.

Same - I know people are upset, but it will take a lot to fix this. I hate to say this, but the US is likely past the point of fixing this with voting, at least on a global stage. Large-scale protests (large!) will be a start. You have to convince the whole world this isn't who you are.

I see protests here and there, and I appreciate the idea of protesting with your wallets like Feb28 (we also did that) but you should be working to organize as many 'in-person ' protests as possible. We know Trump gets scared by large protests - He needs to see it
March 1, 2025 at 7:32 PM
Hopefully that helps, but people should be organizing if you want to be able to prevent the descent into fascist isolationism. Your government is doing what is is because it's not concerned about you. You should work to change that, non-violently

Trump has numerous times threatened the sovereignty of Canada and Denmark. This won't just come back, you understand. If your best friend stabs you in the back and then attacks your other mutual friends, you won't forget. If they do it over and over...? You need to step up, unfortunately.
March 1, 2025 at 5:30 PM
I understand the apathy and I do appreciate the protests, but it needs to be in numbers unlike you've accomplished before. When the European countries protest, The streets are packed to the horizon. Is it like that anywhere in the US today, after the farce in Washington yesterday for example?

As a Canadian, until I see American people actually doing about the destruction of their country and their long term alliances, I can only assume you're all complicit. You're way past 'sorry'

Maybe I should try this at a gold depository.. 'Hi! I'm here from DOGE to take all this inefficient gold away and replace it super-reliable Crypto. Sure, you can help me load it in this government U-Haul..'

50+ year old here. Nothing American-made is coming into our household unless there is absolutely no other option. The attack and lack of meaningful response tells me what I need to know. We're living above a meth lab and sooner or later (seems like sooner) it's gonna blow.
February 4, 2025 at 2:44 AM
As a Canadian I consider this an act of aggression by the US and I suspect many others will as well. This is an unprovoked attack on our people via economic warfare in a misguided attempt to claim our land and resources. The rest of the world will be equating the US to Russia. As do I.

Nova Scotia is small, but we're tough. War of 1812 and all that. It's liquor and any US companies that do business with us. This isn't the federal response, and I'm proud that we're responding first (even though I didn't vote for him..)
