What you do is not who you are. Who you are informs what you do, but occupations change, interests wax and wane, activity begins and ends. Your identity does none of that, it evolves.
You know we are doomed when the fate of the world lies in the hands of two bloated, megalomaniacal narcissists bent on ultimate self gratification. It’s terrifying, in a fascinating way.

One of my 3 plots in the community garden. Early Girls and Better Boys. Both hybrids because of rampant fungal wilt. Still, a good way to get dirty.

May 4, 1970. In case you’ve forgotten, a classic page from the fascist playbook occurred in Kent, Oh. The authoritarian Nixon regime calculated that killing a few rich white kids would shut down mounting protests. It did. They won, with no accountability. And they are still in power.

Authoritarians know it’s laughably easy to undermine a democracy because, by definition, it must deliberate. So, with one big lie and a soupçon of bullying, a coup can be effectively completed while the institutions of government are still seeking consensus.

I’ve never been very politically involved except for voting and then complaining, but ‘5 calls’ is a terrific way to let the fascists know there are still some rational people they need to answer to.
