I am nobody important.
Again, not saying that I agree with the claims, but the logic of cooking foods in an unhealthy medium makes the food unhealthy is pretty accepted and not considered outlandish.

If I cooked some chicken in a poisonous broth, it would be accurate and fair to claim the chicken is poisonous, no?

Cool story, bro.

The milk argument is weird, but as I understand it most industrial oils (Canola, safflower etc.) are considered ultra processed based on the chemical process used to manufacture them. So anything you cook in them will be considered ultra processed. Unlike expeller pressed oils for example.

I never claimed they are the same. I am disputing your assertion that it's a right-wing issue/framing. Ultra processed foods are part of the same broader discussion of healthy foods as orgranic foods, anti-biotic treatment, artifical sweeteners etc. that Liberals have traditionally cared about..

I am so old, I remember when liberals and lefties were on the side of organic foods, sustainable farming, sugar taxes, anti-industrial farming etc. I don't believe eating healthy foods that have been minimally processed is inherently political.

I also support you choosing to eat whatever you like!

What I mean is that the GOP moderates are more willing to tolerate and accept the rabid right and form a coalition with them. Whereas centrist Democrats really don't want to make coalitions with the hard/extreme left and are more comfortable co-existing with their more conservative peers.

IMHO It's easier to take over a small tent party then a big tent. When your party only occupies the space between the solid right and the extreme right wing, its easier to move the party right. When you're trying to represent slight right to solid left, shifting left risks losing more than you gain.

Not trying to take a position on ultraprocessed vs natural etc, but isn't what you are describing quite similar tactic to how global warming is being dismissed. Find an "expert" to dispute/disagree about something and use a reason to dismiss?

"As Joseph Conrad’s Kurtz might have testified, “The horror! The horror!”
I'm not gonna lie...the Heart of Darkness reference is awesome!
