I don't understand that mindset. "He's not hurting the people he needs to be hurting" is such a disgusting sentiment. I want politicians and bureaucrats to help people, not hurt them. I'm aware of how rare that is, but that's what I want.

It'll never happen until Americans give up on the idea that public transit has to be profitable. It's a common good. I don't care if it makes money or not.

Yeah, I might be too low on patience with war stuff guys in general. There's only so many times I can hear someone describe themselves as a history buff, just to find out they only know about WW2 battles that involved America, and American military equipment. It's frustrating.

I really think this depends on how much of an age gap there is. My siblings are all close in age, and I fought my siblings nonstop growing up. But now that we're adults we get along really well most of the time.
None of us were really ever obsessed with each other.

That's fair. I just wish everyone was more honest in our political discourse. The lies and half truths have really harmed a lot of people, and poisoned attempts to make things better.

I haven't seen any AI companion ads IRL, but the digital ads are so unsettling. They make me feel like I'm in an abusive relationship. As the abuser.

I know there are outliers, but I really have a hard time understanding how someone develops a parasocial relationship with AI. There's nothing human about how it interacts with people and it frequently loses track of conversations. Talking with AI has been a frustrating and unfulfilling experience
