Something else that really struck me in this report is this paragraph. "AI is doing things for students that they used to enjoy."

In the latest episode of a CBC podcast, the Associate Superintendent of Vancouver School Board talks about the "cat and mouse" game of trying to catch students that use AI.

He then confirms that they are "going to be introducing Copilot at some point for students".

We agree that students need a few classes on "AI literacy", but Microsoft is not who you want associated with that.

You don't organize a class on Climate Change and get ExxonMobil to run it.

#ai companies have been steadily moving into schools across North America in the last year.

They are spending millions of dollars on advertising.

Parents often don't know the negative effects of AI, and educators are being told to use it by administrators blown away by slick presentations.
