From an interesting conversation between SFUSD Fiscal Advisor Elliot Duchon and @ppssf.bsky.social ED Vanessa Marrero, Special Education Committee Chair Havah Kelly and myself earlier this month

At the end of the day, it comes down to Jill’s well known, casual racism.

Her message to privileged white parents: “No need to worry! Special Education is for Black kids. So who cares!”

Supt. Su is also going to take a pass on an investigation by the City Controller, because she wouldn’t want any light shed on the grisly dysfunction in the SFUSD budget dept. Jill’s cool with that too.

As a treat, we get some revisionist history.

No, Jill, Matt Wayne did not resign because of this SpEd mess.

We all know he resigned because he pushed relentlessly for deeply unpopular school closures, and failed, despite your best efforts.

We are familiar with Jill serving as a mouthpiece for the Supe.

Will Maria Su hold anyone on her staff accountable for a $30 million screwup that left almost 200 kids without their legally mandated services?

Nope. Superintendent Su is really sorry and that’s good enough for Jill.

The district still doesn't have their finance and HR systems in order so it doesn't have the data to make good decisions.

Instead, SFUSD is choosing to make dramatic layoffs to satisfy the austerity ghouls. It's a "cut twice, measure once" approach.

These are the SFUSD positions that Supt. Maria Su will ask the Board to approve for layoffs on Tuesday.

Listening to parents speak at public comment it doesn't sound like we have 70 too many elementary school teachers and 44 too many paraeducators.

This is who YIMBYs want you to think DSA public housing activists are.

What year is this from? The “low and moderate income housing” thing doesn’t seem to have become a reality.

I thought FSF had faded away but it looks like they’re part of TSF now.

A couple questions about this Together SF blog post

1. Is Families for SF still a thing?

2. Why are they promoting the utterly silly requirement to spend 50% of meetings on “student outcomes” which comes from shady consultant AJ Crabill?
