Hemmed in by fog and traffic on the M25 en route home from Cornwall, the thought of connecting with the Yellow Warbler seemed a dim and distant prospect. However it showed beautifully this afternoon and so did the Scops Owl at Broadstairs! Nice to see @tsbirding.bsky.social!
Lovely week on Scilly with lovely company. A few highlights from Scilly and the journey there: Bluethroat, Hoopoe, 7 Great Shears, 4 Sooty, 3 Pomarine Skuas and the Steppe Grey Shrike from Cornwall. Hope to be back next year!

I’ve really enjoyed birding at Landguard regularly this autumn. Y’day was great, with Jack Snipe & Long-eared Owl amongst 50+ species. Today was epic! A self-found Yellow-browed Warbler then the magic moment of relocating a Pallas’s Warbler with Will Brame which he & Bill Mackie had found earlier.

Excellent day in Suffolk: started at Walberswick with @DavidWalsh22 for the Zitting Cisticola which obligingly perched, briefly, between song flights, but long enough to allow scope views and a photo. Then went to Hollesley to see the Black Stork which was very confiding.
