If this message is actually about America, who is it for? What is it trying to accomplish?

It doesn’t place any burden on the American regime to justify its actions, and “we’re with you but too afraid to say it out loud” can’t be much comfort to Americans resisting—so what’s the point?

Any thoughts on the reports of violence, arbitrary arrests, and intimidation tactics by the American regime against its own people?

Carney isn't just failing Canada, he's failing the world. If we don't stand for democracy and a rules-based international order, why would any other country come to Canada's defence when we need it?

On more than one occasion it was a cover that made me realize just how good a song is—the original versions are so embedded in the culture and in my brain that it can be hard to step back and recognize.

I’ve noticed recently that there’s often a fight in which all the bad guys are masked, presumably so that we don’t notice that after they all die here the same stunt guys will be back for the next round in 20 minutes.

Everyone knows the emperor has no clothes, but the emperor is making a lot of money for powerful people so we’re just going to go on pretending he’s dressed to the nines.

What has surprised me over the past few months is the possibility that it can be both: that it can be a transparently unsustainable bubble yet with enough elite complicity they can just keep it going, keep it raking in money for the already rich while the rest of us get screwed.
