Sometimes Sports is just a game. A kid's game played by adult men and adult women. But sometimes it's something more. Sometimes it's something that transcends. Sometimes it's this. I've never seen anything like it and probably won't again. Unless he does it in the World Series.

I pray to God he's right. I've said all along that I still believe democracy will win but I'm truly starting to wonder. I thought he would face more resistance but it seems to do whatever he wants and easily.

Did that governor of Utah actually say he was praying for it to be "one of them"? I mean let's face it, we were all hoping it was a right-wing fanatic. But for a governor to admit he's disappointed that it wasn't a left-wing crazy? This is where we are now. Fuck them all.

I miss the days of relying on a paper map and my memory. Don't get me wrong, I use GPS just like everybody else. But I still miss it. Just like I miss local hardware stores... You could bring in anything and they would know what it was and how to fix it.

That is beautifully put, and so true. I felt that way when Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip was diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2016 and died a little over a year later. For almost 30 years The Hip were the soundtrack of my life. 9 years ago today they played their last concert. I still miss him.
