I hate the notion that estrangement that is brought on by familial falling outs has different implications when that family is extended. It still hurts regardless. It’s still a painful decision to go low/no contact with people who had a huge part in your life growing up.

Just so we’re all aware, children can understand what transitioning is. We need to stop pretending that adult bias colors the views of a child. It doesn’t. Children do not see the world in the same way that adults do. Stop shielding children because YOU don’t think they’ll get it.

You know what? I’m pissed. It’s all too clear what the current administration means when they think “American citizens”. And it’s not shocking that it excludes indigenous people. According to them, there is no place for people of color or First Nations and that is disgusting to me.
