As someone who lives in michigan where apples are… everywhere to say the least. I can buy a whole bag of yummy gala, Fuji, or honey crisp for like $5 (or a million other varieties but those are my favorites) and i would be so sad if i had to pay $5 for a single apple

I don’t mind either as long as it doesn’t hinder my reading. I love unique things done in books, one of my favorite series was the Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan stroud. The use of footnotes to put little jokes or (sometimes wall breaking) comments was fun and engaging.
