I imagine that record-keeping was a bit mushy circa 1098 so who can ever really know, but it seems like all the public sources that list a specific date have it as Sept 16. Wouldn’t hurt to check JSTOR though!

Thank you! And yes, I totally agree. So far the only non-fig fruity perfume I really love is Dear Polly, which has smoky black tea and oakmoss to offset the sweetness of the apple note. I definitely want to leave room for my tastes to change though so I try to stay open-minded!
