deprecating arguments without redirection is also annoying. Introducing new arguments too just makes codes to become weird. Previously working codes just become useless.

Have you tried case_match(), case_when() #tidyverse alternatives? Quite compact. I was also lost in trees of if_else() and if(), else() before I converted.

I had similar experience few years back. One of the advice given was to install a lower version that works before upgrading to a higher one, both for R and RStudio.

This is just funny. The error was none of those. The 'name:' at line 51 was not aligned with line 10. Unnecessary waste of time!
