"In theater?" Are they attending early screenings of, "Melania?"

I imagine that might erode morale.

Yes, the famous LTE on Washington was a watershed moment in the Civil Rights movement.

I don't think being a Nobel Prize owner is the same as being a Nobel Prize winner.

That subhead-- oof. "Raises questions?" How about, "Disproves?

Are you unfamiliar with the University of Michigan sign stealing scandal, for which neither he nor the university had to pay any price?

Since Jim Harbaugh cheats and escapes consequences, he fits the Trump mold. Don't know for sure about his brother, but certainly might.

It's clearly approaching 100%.

I think Washington could/ should be boosted into the A Tier. Being the first President had a bunch of pitfalls that he largely avoided to our ongoing benefit.

First the burritos, and now this. We are witnesses to a descent into gastronomical madness.

Because liar is a word and falsehooder is not.

Someone who lies is a liar. Someone who expresses falsehoods/ says things that are false is more nuanced.

They are trying to have it both ways, focusing on the action rather than status of the speaker.

Punt coverage implies the recognition of a two-dimensional playing field, and over the last five years Matt Y's takes have curdled into single left-right dynamic, where the correct response is always, "Punch left."

It's like this Far Side cartoon:

In the post-Soviet 1990s there were essentially no legitimate threats to the United States anywhere in the world.

Guantanamo, in Castro's Cuba, was the closest thing to a front line that Sorkin and Reiner could get.

The argument that there is ambiguity in the 22nd Amendment seems meritless. Even if there is ambiguity, haven't decades of "originalism" taught us that the intention of the drafters matter?

And we know for a fact that the 22nd Amendment was explicitly adopted in response to FDRs 3rd and 4th terms.

I just lookeed it up, and Venzuela nationalized their oil reserves in 1976, under the Ford administration. 49 years feels like a long time to wait to push back.

Also, didnt other countries also nationalize their oil holdings?
December 17, 2025 at 9:09 PM
With Yglesias, it's both. Guy has turned his entire raison d'etre into punching left.
December 15, 2025 at 6:37 PM
When I first heard the news, I too thought it was going to be because of Reiner's anti-Trump position. The reality is far more personal and tragic.

But Trump cannot help himself and is essentially taking credit for Reiner's demise. Disgraceful.

Gotta be one of the best five movie runs of any director. We choose to ignore "North."
