Yeah, the monetizing aspect is really egregious. Yet I am always reminded of the MZB lost novel dilemma. (Yes , I know now how toxic MZB was/is but it doesn’t negate what happened when a fan turned up with very similar story and MZB had to burn off her own work).

might imagine with the help of AI. Sometimes it sux to have a popular IP to protect. So many writers don’t even have the tools to object to IP piracy which fans create without thought of their impact on the creator.
