Weird internet person, occasional gardener.
She/Her 30 something. Not dead just lurking.
These last few years have done a number on my mental health so I haven't been taking the best care of my hair. So WHY is it the longest it's ever been? I've spent so much money on my hair over the years but all I really needed was a little depression.

Meta "updated" their tv app to include flatscreen content that you already can watch on every other flatscreen device. While also removing all the cool videos I had cached which were really the only reason I ever used the damn thing sooo I guess I have no use for this headset any more. Cool.

If you're on pc and games are the thing stopping you from trying Linux I'm happy to say games work really well. Except easy anticheat games, those still don't. VR works. You also don't have to touch terminal if you don't want to. They have something called flatpak which seems to the EXE equivalent

I may have bought too many seeds. And a blueberry bush because why not. And a grape vine.

So now that the 2024 garden season has come to an end I have to say the one thing I learned is don't grow corn. Squirrels will just get them.

Who would've guessed that pokemon cards would still be a thing 24-ish years later? I wish I had because then I could've just saved all mine from middle school instead of buying brand new ones for my nephew.

So I was not able to overwinter my giant eggplants. They all died. BUT I did save seeds that have now sprouted quicker than store bought seeds so win I guess.

Just did my second round of stacking coupons on amazon this month. They're going to take a hit out on me probably. But on the plus side life has become so hard for every person alive that now no one makes fun of me when I do this stuff. Anyway ymmv but try "FRESH50" on amazon fresh to get 50 off 100

Bee update: My solo bumble bee friend has left but the honey bees have arrived. From where? Fuck if I know. I'm in the middle of the city. But I guess I'm just serving up that good shit, tomato and eggplant flowers.

The nice thing about being a digital magpie is that I can pull up emails/etc from like 2001. Why am I holding on to this stuff? idk. Anyway this was brought up by me checking a decade of emails to find that yes I did have Facebook at some point and thus am eligible for the Facebook case action thing

Every year of gardening I learn a new horrifying thing. This year's lesson: Vine borers. Moths that lay eggs on squash. Then those eggs hatch and bore into the plant to eat them inside out because nature is full of nightmare fuel. Any way they got my zucchini.

Over the winter I started eggplant from seed in a hydroponic kit. It outgrew that so I planted it outside. Apparently they're perennial in warm climates. So I can't help but wonder, could I just plop it back into the same hydroponic system over the winter? 🤔 Can I have an immortal eggplant?

Like 5 years ago I bought a vr headset on a whim and a month later a better version came out. This week I considered buying a quest 2 headset on a whim and just happened to check the news. They announced the updated version which will be out later this year... Nearly did it again.
