The KY Dept for Public Health issued a Health Alert regarding an increase in pertussis (whooping cough) w/566 cases reported 2025, the highest number since 2012, and a third pertussis-related death in a KY infant, the first since 2018. Vaccination remains the best strategy to reduce severe illness.
