it often goes unrecognized for having the coolest multiplayer covenant in the series, the rat covenant. i can MAYBE accept gravelord servants from DS1 as cooler, but rat covenant takes it for me easy

i think my favorite "DS2 cutbacks during development" thing evident in the game is how emerald herald gives you places to go based on the cardinal directions, in a game with no compass or any other way to work those out

oddly, i felt in my first playthrough that seeing them as a boss was a lot easier to get me feeling like i could do it than just one of them as a regular enemy. maybe it's just the big healthbars give me a better sense of progress, or could be that having a large boss arena makes positioning easier.

oh yeah for sure, i actually didnt mind throwing myself against the twin crucible knights, i meant "worst" in the sense of "harder" not necessarily a negative experience

honestly i always felt the worst ones in elden ring were the two of the same guy, not mixing in matching. twin crucible knights was a lot worse than crucible knight + misbegotten warrior

its crazy to think but if not for the prequels i feel like star wars would just be another like. 80s thing (i know it started in the 70s but still). like ghostbusters or back to the future or what have you. and like those would have inevitably seen some attempt to revive it in the '10s nonetheless.

though as i say this i do remember now it was also leading into the new monkey island reveal which. yeah trailers and ads all the way down i suppose. but it was dressed up nice!

i remember liking the first one they did, which didnt actually have (forward facing at least) sponsors iirc. not too many trailers. geoff just paid for it out of pocket. mostly i just remember the lifetime achievement award for ken and roberta williams, which had a really nice presentation

a lot of songs work best and sometimes only REALLY work in the context of their album placement. also if you're an album listener in general, streaming services aren't great for you because they always want to autoplay the next thing once the album's done. doesn't give you time to absorb the thing

iirc he did the LP for yahtzee's chzo mythos games, which i really enjoyed but that was mostly for the creator commentary from yahtzee himself in the thread. the chrono trigger one i read a bit since he was constantly glazing it in his golden sun LP but i never finished it. what was he dumb about?
