The original ones came out about a decade ago. Since then, Proton has negated all of the Linux/Windows issues and it's a much more legitimate product as evidenced by the Steam Deck.

Biggest complaint I've heard is that it is underpowered. I think those making that complaint haven't used a Steam Deck and experienced that it really isn't that big of a deal as long as things run well. I'm personally thinking the hardware being lower spec is purposeful and will help with pricing.

It's pretty much the Steam Deck with the screen removed, and it works fine as the Deck's controller. I'll admit it doesn't look like much though...
