This means the world because we truly believe in bringing high-impact improvements with little work for customers.

We took the decision early on to not add a "Traces" tab and instead work on making the experience seamless with the existing log data customers would be sending.

Metrics next 💪🏼

Observability is a misused word in DevOps.
Monitoring != o11y if you don’t have 100% of your logs, metrics, and traces for analysis. https://axiom.co/blog/observability-a-brilliant-idea-whose-name-has-been-hijacked

Encouraged by testing with @njpatel.bsky.social 's Axiom platform, I've finally updated the header propagation logic in my apps removing the old Zipkin stuff and adding `traceparent` and `tracestate`. Now I'm getting the full waterfall. Awesome. 2/2

I've been sending traces from a multi-machine home lab to Lightstep for ages. Lightstep was able to string together the traces using Envoy Proxy's x-request-id header. Whenever I tried other tracing backends like Google I wouldn't see the whole waterfall. 1/2

So freaking excited for this!

› OpenTelemetry Traces support
› Automatic dashboards make it super easy to browse and view traces
› Use APL to search and analyze your trace data just like you already do with logs
› Build dashboards and alerts on pure, unsampled, data

👋🏼 hello to everyone. I'm njpatel, an open source hacker that built AWN, Affinity, Ubuntu Netbook Remix, Unity, etc.

That led me to join Xamarin back in 2014 Xamarin Insights.

And that led me and friends to break every timeseries database we had hands on and so now am co-founder/CEO of axiom.co 😀
