I think why you see the divide is because the initial situation is still ongoing, there’s still 200K worth of donations on paper that have not gone to charity as far as we’re aware, and Jirard has only buried his head in the sand with his actions instead of genuinely resolving it instead.

I don’t buy the “can’t happen” at all, look at the situation surrounding Hello Games and the launch of No Man’s Sky, a comparably hostile situation, where redemption seemed unlikely, but they still managed it, by putting in the work to make up for their wrongs (or perceived wrongs, depending).

I don’t buy the “can’t happen” at all, look at the situation surrounding Hello Games and the launch of No Man’s Sky, a comparably hostile situation, where redemption seemed unlikely, but they still managed it, by putting in the work to make up for their wrongs (or perceived wrongs, depending).
And if he’s unwilling to walk that path towards redemption, then he’ll just continue to be who he already was.

I’m not sure how his (Jirard) morality factor into it? He’s already shown he is immoral by betraying everyone’s trust in him, and if he wants redemption he’d have to work towards rebuilding that trust, this isn’t a radical concept, that trust is hard to earn the second time around.

The incentive is the redemption, if that’s not good enough, then they don’t truly want redemption, they just don’t want problems.

If the road to redemption was easy, there’d be no weight to it, and no one is “blocking” or otherwise preventing Jirard from trying to do right by the people he cheated, other than himself for being unwilling to walk the thorny path towards genuine redemption.

The thing that strikes me is that anyone CAN do art, not all art, sure, but anyone can do some level of art, like self-expression does not have to be technically demanding. But it’s never about that for them. They just want the accolades.

Genuinely I’ve been playing PS4 games on my PS5 for this exact reason, I do not comprehend how it isn’t possible for there to be a setting to make it look worse but run better. (“Performance”-mode toggles isn’t enough to make things smooth)

Yeah, I don't understand why they didn't just do a separate category for "Best post-release content" or something along those lines instead of doing this.

Yeah, I am sorry about that 😅 not quite the remix application I had hoped for, I wanted to see ps1-era inspired games and wanted them to have something to put people in that headspace

Not as much as I might have hoped 😅 it was mostly “XYZ has thumbed-up” and comments saying something along the lines of “So much nostalgia!”, which have been a joy to receive 😁

But most of my time was spent on doing small music visualizers trying to showcase interesting logic interactions I had tinkered with, with everything being remixable for people to browse :)

I think the last midnight launch I went to was Diablo 3... even though I didn't even buy Diablo 3 during the launch, lol, I just found a used copy of 3D Dot Game Heroes and bought that instead 😂 I was just keeping a friend company
