This takes me back. I had the VGA cable at launch and ended up using a 21" Dell Trinitron monitor with the vertical image squished to make a proper 16x9 image. Audio run through an RCA to 3.5mm stereo adapter, to a 3.5mm female-to-female adapter, to an Altec Lansing speaker system.

I am stunned you hadn't seen 12 Angry Men. It's great and so is the 1997 TV ranked with Jack Lemmon in Henry Fonda's role and George C. Scott in Lee Cobb's.

In the US, it's a toss up. If he was wrestling in Japan, 70 no problem.

Look, Tanzaburo Tojima is unquestionable a sad, pathetic loser, with concerning mental health issues, but I challenge any fan of toku to not see themselves in him. The truth is, for his many faults, he embodies the true soul of a Rider, and there's nothing sexier than heroism.

Hey look, it's Jin Sota from The Dangers in My Heart spin off, The Dangers in My Heart: The Romantic Comedy Won't Start. If she's not too dense, he may finally bring love to Kana's life. I love his glover scaring off those aggressive creeps.

They are ridiculous animals. Ridiculous animals are often fun/cute.

Incredibly heavy handed, but the entire thing is presented in such an over-the-top way that it plays more as absurd than preachy. It embraces how ridiculous the situation is, but that works as a comment on how absurd pro-life is. There's no nuance here and from anyone but Carpenter it wouldn't work.

I wish this overseas Ultraman Live shows would come to a safe country so I could attend one.

Guck, I really am going to have to rewatch this soon. I haven't seen it since like 1998 on VHS, but it just keeps coming up.

I can't call Carpenter's second Masters of Horror appearance as good as Cigarette Burns, but the concept of a Christian girl trying to abort the anti-christ while her pro-life father, Ron Perlman, assaults the clinic is personally very amusing. Especially in the context of 2006 politics.
