Thankful for this sunrise in rural Pennsylvania. Thankful for my friends and family, and for like-minded people who love our country and against all odds will continue to try to preserve our democracy.

For the first time this morning my 3 1/2 year old anxious boy Linus (who must have been traumatized as a kitten) lay on my lap next to his older brother Leo who is his security blanket. (Hence Linus’s name.) For some reason, this gives me a little hope today. I’ll take that wherever I can find it.
