Ah ok. I can't help you there yet unfortunately. {mvgam} will be able to handle that in the next major version but that is a while off. Are you open to modifying the Stan code yourself?

Are all of your observations of the same distribution? If so you can use {mvgam} to do this, either using latent factors to approximate residual vcv matrix or fully parameterized: nicholasjclark.github.io/mvgam/refere...
