Price fixing isn't going away when vacancy rates hover at 5% and apartment starts are flat lining. Kudos for delivering to voters that got you elected, but home builders are unanimously opposed to this and they're the allies/villains that will get us out of the supply shortage.

Unfortunately, this very much affects market sentiment. Council could be prioritizing cutting red tape and instead they focus on this . . . Non issue 🤷‍♂️ lefty red meat. I welcome proof that it's impacting rents in PDX. Builders are seeing this & cuts to permitting staffing & ✌️ing out.

Are there assurances that this doesn't lower Portland's rental market atractivness to investors? Till y'all figure out social housing, which, realistically, is forever away, we're stuck with the private market. Apartment starts are flat lining, this ⬇️ PDX market attractiveness. We need supply ASAP

If any PDX elected official has a mandate it's Wilson. Seems pretty obvious that a left council president would regularly be at odds with Wilson. Seems reflective of the election to not give the progressive faction the president role.

Can it be that she is too progressive for their liking? With Wilson getting as big of a mandate as he did, they don't trust the progressive block to enact the will of the people.
