What an intersting man he was.
François Hotman was an outstanding student at the Law School at the University of Orléans. He adopted the Reformed ideas around 1547. Thanks to Calvin, he was appointed as a teacher of literature in the Académie in Lausanne in 1549.

The Huguenot Library, based at The National Archives, Kew, London, gives a fascinating insight into the daily lives of Huguenots. You can book an appointment to see a variety of trade bills presented to the French Hospital and other documents by emailing library@huguenotsociety.org.uk

The Huguenot Society certainly holds some beautiful records.
The Huguenot Library contains a diverse range of records that provide a wonderful insight into daily life in the French Hospital. For example, the image below is of the Steward Rule 9, which stipulates that the belongings of each resident must be itemised after death.
