this why is no matter how right wing these people swing, it won’t gain them votes. people who already have those beliefs don’t view the swing as legitimate and somewhat condescending, that their support can just be earned by repeating what they believe

i know it’s easy to get lost in the media not wanting to acknowledge reality, making it feel likes there’s no hope a mass brainwashing, but do realize lots of normies understand what’s going on.

not to sound like an alarmist, but keep attention on the #Lebanon #Israel border. since 10/7 #Hezbollah & Israel have been involved in military clashes. after Hezbollah stepped up attacks following the assassination of a commander, Israel might be planning an escalation alongside the war in #Gaza

for the first time since the conflict began, the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire in #Gaza through the rest of Ramadan. The United States abstained from #UNSC resolution, allowing its passage with the rest of the votes in favor.

#China & #Guyana explain their votes on the UNSC resolution calling for a ceasefire. China says the resolution was too weak & still demands for conditions, thus not making the ceasefire immediate. Guyana states it did not place enough blame on #Israel which is preventing aid from entering #Gaza

Chinese Ambassador to the UN Zhang Jun has said the Security Council has “dragged its feet” for too long on the issue of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
The US draft evades and dodges the issue of a ceasefire, remains ambiguous and avoids calling for an immediate ceasefire, he said.

Guyana says US resolution lacks proper attribution to Israel
Guyana is the only member-country that abstained in the UN Security Council vote on the US resolution.
Ambassador Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett said the proposed text “lacked attribution in a number of key areas”. While it includes condemnation of Hamas, there was no mention of the Israeli authorities.
“To whom is the demand for compliance with obligations under international law [addressed to?] … Who is preventing the use of all available routes to the Gaza Strip? Who does not respect deconfliction and notification mechanisms?” she said.
