No worries, I just wanted to explain that it's not uncommon to freeze them for a while; depending on how soon cremation is possible. Sometimes people taxidermy them but I'm also a little weirded out by that

Ok so yeah they don't live long + are prone to infections. Mine died a year in because of an upper respiratory infection (common for rats). I did have to freeze her for a week because I was going to have her cremated. (Obligatory ratpost)
