Stolen identity I've recently put back in a deck because it's so fun, and if you can get two cast in the same initial turn, not that bad a rate.

We see a lot of Anger and Wonder, a bit of Filth and Brawn, but not enough Valor. First Strike on everything is impossible to attack into!
Finally found a deck for Nacatl War-Pride and I'm very happy about that.
The Med Kit is a great curve filler for decks that just want artifacts.

And a couple more for the road. Illithid Harvester is one of my underrated sweepers for blue and green, and both halves of it work even better at instant-speed, blanking all the creatures in an attack, or tapping down to avoid it altogether. Time Stop is already an instant, but still fun to use.

Green also has its share of effects that work very differently when flashed in combat. Lure being able to be put on one opponent's creatures after they declared their attack is hilarious. And Vigor usually causes player to stop attacking you, but flash allows this initial burst of counters too!

Some notable cards: Some cards are fun to flash in because it allows you to use them to much better effect. Aura Thief is a backbreaking card if you can get it to die when you want, and similarly Fool's Demise is great at instant-speed in the middle of combat.

This one? It was previewed on friday.

Discounting the deck that's purpose-built to be difficult to keep track of, I have several decks that can start branching out with options. I will say, this card in particular turns any game into a math problem and is hell to resolve, I love it.

I still love this Rest in Peace, and something else I noticed with it is how well it translates on the specific framing and cropping it gets while on the battlefield in Magic Arena. It makes it stand out more than the actual card, at least for me.

Talk about old cards, not just new ones!
Oracle en-Vec is a pet card of mine that does a lot more than it looks. Asking people to commit to attacks with incomplete info makes people wary, and they often decide they won't attack at all! It's also a protection against any hasty surprise.

My deck for this draft that went 2-1 losing to Tomer's in the finals

PSA because I've now seen about a dozen people read this card wrong independently: Vincent's Limit Break does not permanently or temporarily change the target's stats after it comes back, just before, the change is AFTER quotation marks end and covered under "Until end of turn."

This deck wants as many Sun Titans as possible to keep the cards moving. While Guardian Scalelord is my favorite white card these days, and actual Sun Titan is also here, Redemption Choir is underrated I think. In a deck like this one that can reliably enable Coven, a 4-mana Sun Titan is great!

I actually started building this deck before Aetherdrift spoilers, and I was delighted to see Priest of the Crossing alongside it. Not only is it an additional wincon that likes the tokens the deck makes and death, it's also randomly a Cleric to enable Relic Vial. Thanks Amonkhet!

Some notable cards: The main engine I wanted to play with that made me assemble the deck are these kinds of things. Along with any sac outlet, they make the deck go overboard, allowing for long lines of play as cards bring each other back as they keep dying and being brought back.

Bracket: 3
The deck does feature one Game Changer, Teferi's Protection. It's actually the copy that was previously in my Bant deck (at bracket 2) moved here to fit brackets better, since this was definitely a 3, with late game combos and efficient cards all around.

I'll be there too in #MCVegas this year, alongside the rest of the @mtggoldfish.com crew, if everything works out! Meeting people and playing games.

Anyone I'll meet there?

There are too many great ones to count and I have trouble picking favorites, so I'll give the first one that came to my mind instead: this breathtaking Temple Garden art by @alaynadanner.bsky.social

The attractions and sticker sheets for the deck were picked to try to add some more tracking chaos, though concessions needed to be made for some since I need 10 of each. Special shoutout to trash bin asking to pick a random card from your graveyard, in a deck with graveyard order mattering.

Coat of Arms is famous for being a nightmare to track for everyone at the table. This is the most likely cause of splash tracking damage, forcing opponents to partake in the pain, but it was iconic enough I felt like I had to include it as a one-of non-mechanic.
March 11, 2025 at 11:35 AM
Some notable cards: Gylwain is great because he allows me to get all three "normal" role tokens into the deck with a single card. Even better, he doesn't say on the card what any of them do!

Anointer Priest is surprisingly effective at putting you out of attack range from anyone. Between the token doublers and one Rhys activation with a token doubler, it's not rare to generate 6 of these in their first turn, triggering each other for 28 life, and it goes up exponentially from there.
March 11, 2025 at 4:08 AM
March of Souls is fun tech in a token deck. This one runs the full suite of token-doubling enchantments that existed at the time, and is likely to have some tokens around anyway. Playing a sweeper without crippling yourself is important in token decks, and this one gives quite the headstart.
