It's not to say the rest of the series isn't the same way, but I wouldn't let a friend dive into the deep end that is V3. Also the series is more fun if you start from the absolute beginning in my opinion.

As a fan of the series, I am morally obligated to say this, stop now and check out the rest of the franchise first. Danganronpa V3 is known for being more gruesome, gory, and disturbing than the rest of the franchise.
