My coworker gave me some of these silicone glasses hook things and I love them so much. They are especially useful with masks, my glasses keep sliding off when wearing a mask.

Can we please stop holding important conferences in the US? One of my students is affected by the full travel ban and for others it just doesn't seem sufficiently safe. I love my US colleagues and would have enjoyed attending HSP and ACL/CoNNL but it's simply not an option at this point.

Playing with data in Omeka S and having so much fun. Import stuff, batch edit, export as csv, edit data in spreadsheet, reimport, rinse repeat.

And then I have a pretty map!

thanks to @Omeka

I clicked two library catalogue "permalinks" today, one 2 years old and one 15 years old, from different catalogues, and neither one worked. We really shouldn't call them that if we're not going to make it happen.

Being a manager I rarely dip into programming anymore and when I do it only reminds me of how much I've forgotten :(

But I got SOMETHING done in XSLT/Ruby so I'll consider that a win

lil shoutout to one of my favorite utility apps

https://imageoptim.com/

It squishes images to be a fraction of their former size. It's really useful for thumbnails especially, where it sometimes removes 90% of the file size

When we moved offices, we were told we would be able to get a phone installed so we (the 13 people that share a phone line) can make calls. Then we were told we would get a "teams softphone" so we can make calls. Now we can't have either, but there are still phone calls to be made.

The process […]

I was excited to see that my thermostat gave me a wider option than before (68-74, rather than 72-74). I set it to 68, but when I leave my office it goes back up to 74. When I enter the office, the AC starts blowing to bring it back to 68.

This just doesn't seem that useful for the winter, but […]
