I believe the Switch 2 game cards use a faster storage medium that costs significantly more than the OG Switch cards. That would explain why physical games cost more, but stacking that on top of inflation leaves a very sour taste. But, is MK World really using more memory than DK Bonanza?

Sony tried the whole proprietary memory cards thing and it was absolutely hated by everyone. It was so much more expensive to the consumer. It's better to just store your games in SD cards since the technology is already widely supported.
