I wanted to stay gone, but now the National Guard is marching in the streets and people STILL refuse to see that the U.S. military is the bad guys. So I guess I'm back.
And never realized that - if they wanted to attack the American people - there were sports stadiums that they could've hit?
You never realized that they were attacking the US govt, not the people?

I know "failure to speak of your enlistment as a source of shame" is a sign of stupidity but come on!

Also, you "can't imagine" it being much less than 15%? Why are you "imagining" anything? There's a chart right there that says "14.7%".

that ladder, any conclusion other than "Latinos are also concentrated at the lowest ranks" is inherently unreasonable.

To argue against the upper ranks being overwhelmingly white, you'd effectively have to argue "The Generals might all be Latino!" which, again, is inherently unreasonable.

My thesis statement was quite clear: the racial/diversity in the Guard is concentrated at the lowest ranks. Higher ranks are much more White.

The data I presented expressly states as much. Unless you have some reason to suspect that Latinos are an exception and have some unique ability to climb

The National Guard also has one of the lowest percentages of Hispanic or Latino members.

While they don't provide the breakdown of Hispanic or Latino members by rank, it's a safe bet that it follows the same trajectory as other minorities.

Likely true, but that diversity is predominantly concentrated among the lower ranks.

The people up top giving orders are overwhelmingly white.

Your son died a pointless death. What do you profit by pretending his death was noble? All you do is convince some mother's son to run off and get himself killed.

You perpetuate a cycle of war and grieving by exalting its "sacrifices". There is nothing but suffering that can come of that.

The correct response is "get out of my store, we don't serve dogs."

Make enlistment a societal death sentence, or these bombings will continue forever.

Framing it as a "service" similarly allows them to believe that what they've done is honorable.

How we treat veterans directly relates to future generations' decision to enlist.

That is why the correct response to learning that someone was in the military is "Fuck you, you fucking traitor!"

When all is said and done, there are only 2 MOS's in all of the military: murderer and conspirator to commit murder.

There is no other job.

To the civilians in the audience: THIS is why you NEVER thank a veteran for their "service". Thanking them let's them believe what they've done is honorable.
