There's still a pretty big romance element to it, with very explicit scenes, but as the series has gone on, the world is becoming so much more lush, and the romance is more of a sub-plot now than the main plot, which I am so happy with. It's gone from more of a romantasy to fantasy romance!

It feels so incredibly insulting to the author. They grow as a writer, work so hard to give us a lush and believable universe. But because the characters don't boink enough (in the middle of war mind you), it's not good?! Hello?!
