The Young's Point: 200 Years on the Water group are organizing a community yard sale with 100% of the proceeds going to support their Bicentennial commemorations in August. The yard sale will be taking place from 9am-1pm at Nathaway and River in Young's Point.

Have you heard? The Peterborough Canadian Irish Club is turning 50 this year and are having a "Grand Irish Gathering" to celebrate! The gathering will take place on August 2, 2025 from 7pm to 11pm against the beautiful backdrop of the new Canadian Canoe Museum.

Hiawatha First Nation is hosting their 29th Annual Traditional Powwow this Saturday May 17 and Sunday May 18, and everyone is welcome! It will take place at the Serpent Mounds with the Grand Entry beginning at 12pm. Check out the graphic for more information!

Last Friday (May 9), on a beautiful sunny afternoon in Cobh, we were honoured to take part in a moving wreath-laying ceremony to mark the Bicentennial of the Peter Robinson Irish Emigration and the departure of 2,024 settlers from their homeland in Ireland.

Our Board Chair, Brendan Moher, is off to Cobh today to attend Ballyhoura Development CLG's Bicentennial Commemoration ceremony: "Janet and I were up bright and early this morning to catch our train from Cork City to Cobh in good time. A beautiful sunny spring day in Ireland for the ceremony."

Ennismore Heritage Days is dipping their toes into local theatre! On Friday, July 11 at 7pm and Saturday, July 12 at 5pm and 8pm, local performers will bring the story of the Moloney family's voyage from County Cork to Ennismore to life at the farm of Don and Stephanie Young.

15 Nine Ships banners can now be spotted hanging from lampposts along George Street! The banners were made possible by a grant from the Peterborough Foundation with support from the Peterborough Historical Society, who submitted a partner application for funding on our behalf.
