i love this whole scenario he's invented where nobody knows how to make good games anymore and he cant get a proper workforce because everyone is a fucking soy cuck game dev that cant meet his standards and not because of any other factors that could possibly be influencing this

the way this dovetails into how blow thinks the layoffs that started in 2023 and continue into 2025 is so misinformed i almost believe it has to be a joke. like there is no way he actually thinks this is why layoffs keep happening.

this is the part that actually started to piss me off and why i needed to make a thread because it is so clear that blow has never really given a single second of time outside of himself in this regard, especially regarding how he talks about journalism here.

this in particular is when you can start to tell blow's lack of outside experience of his indie bubble really starts to show here. like "cushy"? maybe to upper management like yourself, but the actual workforce has like hundreds of horror stories from this particular industry that was documented

ill be posting stuff from the transcript to dissect this so theres likely some ai mistranslations- that being said the vagueness in how he talks about this situtation is one of my key issues with this entire thing. im not expecting him to blast names but he doesnt give proper context at all.

there is like one apology post tucked away god knows where, i presume its a community post, but its just kind of a crummy way to take accountability and doesnt even really do that

the default negative palette is actually very inaccurate and if you don't know about this particular quirk of the shader, it'll completely baffle you because it's not particularly straightforward in how it's working. It's very subtle in some areas.

For the record, this is how it looks in GIPS, which is what the Balatro wikis use to externally create negated versions of the cards. This is such a handy tool that doesn't have anywhere near the documentation or support it really should but it uses very close code to Balatro's actual shaders.

Balatro's "inversion" algorithm is slightly different than the usual invert that other paint programs use, and people have thankfully already done the work to figure out what exactly is going on here
This is a hacky fix I used to fix my negative filter, I'm sure it can be done better tho

I think its tempting to draw parallels between Kee-Oth and the Grass Demon but Grass Demon never calls himself a demon or manifests outside the blades. Given what we know now about Green Magic, I think it's more likely to be retconned to be a wildlife critter from that Heart of the Forest space
