Music fan. UK science teacher in an FFP3 mask.

The right mask makes it easy to sing, perform, teach, or speak in public.

The UK Covid-19 Inquiry was not set up as a criminal investigation. It was set up to learn lessons for “future pandemics”.

Thank you to all who have tried their very best to get to the truth.

When I was just a baby, my mother told me son,
Always be a good boy, don't take money from Russia.

I'm not saying Nigel Farage has done anything of the sort,
But I think it's time for us to release the Russia report.

We must make sure that those we elect as our leaders are not corrupt.

It's why I joined the Labour Party the day Boris Johnson became Tory leader.

You didn't need to be Sherlock Holmes to realise that he would be a terrible leader in a crisis.

Educating the British public about PPE and airborne transmission would mean admitting mistakes and corruption in 2020.

I wonder if this is a reason you just don't see these sorts of masks in Britain.
November 24, 2025 at 6:29 PM
I had some familiarity with FFP3 masks in 2020, but it wasn't until 2021 that I was wearing high quality masks daily, and not until 2022 that I really got involved in the pushback against COVID.

Thank you to all who were active in 2020. I'm a latecomer.

British people are unfamiliar with airborne mitigations for COVID.

Is this due to the corruption and poor planning of 2020?

Today, these masks are easy to obtain. In 2020, PPE was scarce, and procurement was corrupt.

We already knew the Tory government of 2020 were crooks.

People trying to avoid criminal prosecution may not tell the whole truth.

That's why there may be a conflict between “truth” & “justice” in an Inquiry.

Following the 2nd report of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, a bunch of people are moaning about lockdown, saying we should have been more like Sweden. Moaning about the report.

You folks won - the world decided to ignore COVID.

Why are you so miserable?

Do my sons wear masks because I do?

Do I wear a mask because my sons do?

On #InternationalMensDay we celebrate men and boys.

Who would you like to celebrate?

If you follow me, you probably follow me for THEM, not me. Sorry, no photos of them on here.

I know you don't follow me for my musical talents!

One of them bought this album on CD recently.

Follow-up appointment at the doctor today.

The doctor was off sick.

Thank you to their colleague, who covered the appointment.

I've just joined LinkedIn.

Please say "Hi" if you are there.

This is my job title.

Everybody's been talking. The news travels fast.

They said the fire would stop burning. That the flame wouldn't last.

But I don't worry, honey. Let them say what they may.

I wanna stick with you.

We'll find a way. Yes, we'll find a way.

I wore one of these when I hoovered my children's bedroom today.

I have loads of them, because I wear them when I teach. But I don't always remember to wear them when doing the hoovering.

Even though it says "dust mask" on the box.

I teach.

My job is full-time in-person, so I don't know much about working from home, or hybrid working.

But today I attended a meeting remotely. As my travel time was zero, I was able to do my job better.

WFH & hybrid working is not going away.

Daniel Willingham is Professor of Psychology at the University of Virginia.

I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Manchester.

I'd like to propose a new phenomenon - called "The Willingham-Wildflower Effect".

It's a cognitive bias. @dtwuva.bsky.social 🧵

In the last decade, the world of work has changed profoundly.

It's not going back.

The Curriculum Review has ignored this completely. Why?

Do you think that's a problem?
November 5, 2025 at 10:18 PM
Businesses use hybrid working because it's more productive than having workers travelling to the office, getting sick, and leaving for competitors offering better conditions.

Education feeds into national productivity - ultimately influencing how wealthy we are.

Here's a breakdown of how qualifications, hybrid work, and salary relate to each other.

Obviously some jobs must be done in person.

But if those jobs are less well paid, and done by those with less good qualifications, there is a potentially complex issue of social justice.
November 5, 2025 at 10:18 PM
Those with degree-equivalent qualifications are 10x more likely to hybrid work than those with no qualifications.

The education system doesn't control how people work, but it does control WHO gets the qualifications.
