We hope our novel method provides an opportunity to generate more evidence on deal-making between doctors and pharmaceutical companies elsewhere!

We know "incentive-linked prescribing" can lead to unnecessary prescribing, affect patient trust, increase the cost of medicines and the risk of patients experiencing adverse effects.

Over 40% of doctors who were not part of our intervention agreed to accept incentives for prescribing specific medications.
